Worker Interactions with the Platform
Most workers interact with Salus directly, by logging into their own account on Salus Mobile. But not every worker has their own device, a reliable login, or a permanent need for a full account. This article covers the main ways a worker can access Salus, and what to use when direct access isn't possible.
Direct Access
A worker downloads Salus Mobile and logs into their own profile. From there, they can view and complete every form available to their company, and read or edit any document they've been granted access to. Asset features tied to their assigned site are also available to them. Anything they do is automatically filed under their own profile and the site they're working on. This is the default, and best, way for a worker to interact with Salus.
When a Worker Can't Log In Directly
If a worker doesn't have their own device or a full account, Salus has a few purpose-built options, each suited to a different situation.
QR code check-in
A worker scans a site's QR code, verifies themselves, and is automatically created or linked to the company. From there, they can access and submit their assigned forms right away, without anyone else managing it on their behalf. This is the recommended approach for onboarding subcontractor workers who have a phone but no existing account.
Temporary Worker role
A lightweight identity for short-term or guest workers, such as visitors or auditors, who only need access to specific assigned forms or orientations without a full permanent account.
Anonymous Submissions
For forms where identifying the submitter isn't necessary, a worker can submit through a QR code with anonymous access enabled, with no login and no identity attached at all.
Fallback: Using a Shared Device
If none of the options above are practical, for example, the worker has no device at all, or connectivity is too poor to check in, a form can still be completed on someone else's logged-in device and later associated with the correct worker's profile. Treat this as a fallback rather than a first choice, since it depends on someone manually reassigning the submission afterward.
