Accept Subcontractor Invite

Accept a Subcontractor Invite

When a company using Salus wants to add you as a subcontractor, they'll either connect with you instantly if your company is already in Salus, or send you an email invite if it isn't. This article covers what to expect either way, and walks through accepting an email invite if you get one.

Note: If your company already exists in Salus, the prime contractor can connect with you directly with no action needed on your end. You may not receive an email at all in this case, you'll simply show up as connected in their Subcontractors list.

Steps

  1. Look for an email titled "[Company Name] has invited you to SALUS!"
  1. Click Accept Invitation. If the button doesn't work, copy the link from the email into your browser instead.
  2. Log in with your existing Salus account if you have one, or continue to the next step to create one.

If you don't have a Salus account yet, you'll see a Let's get to know you screen:

First Name, Last Name

Your name as it will appear in Salus.

Password (optional), Verify Password

Setting a password is optional at this stage.

  1. Click Next.

Once your account is created, you'll see "Please add more details about your company":

Company Name, Phone

Basic identifying details for your company.

Country, State/Province, Company Address, City, Postal/Zip Code

Your company's location.

Timezone

Used to display dates and times correctly for your team.

Select Industry, Industry Type, Select Trade

Categorizes your company's line of work.

Which of these fields are strictly required hasn't been confirmed. Fill in as much as you can, since it helps the prime contractor and any future partners identify your company correctly.
  1. Click Get Started.
  2. You'll land on your company's dashboard in Salus, now connected to the company that invited you.

Warning: If you're logged into the same Salus account that sent the invite, you'll see "You can not accept an invite to your own company." Log out and log back in with your own subcontractor company's account, or open the link in a private/incognito window, before accepting.

What Happens Next

Once connected, the prime contractor can see summarized activity for your company, such as forms your workers submit for their sites, but they won't have access to your worker profiles directly. You'll manage your own workers, forms, and documents independently within your own Salus account.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I always need to accept an invite?

No. If your company already exists in Salus, the prime contractor can connect with you instantly without sending a formal invite. You'll only see an "Accept Invitation" email if your company wasn't already found in Salus.

What if I don't have a Salus account yet?

Clicking Accept Invitation will walk you through creating one: first your name and an optional password, then a few details about your company.

Why does it say I can't accept an invite to my own company?

This means you're logged into the same account that sent the invite. Log in as your own subcontractor company's account instead, or use a private/incognito browser window.

Will the prime contractor be able to see my workers' profiles?

No. They can see summarized activity and completed forms tied to their sites, but your worker profiles stay managed within your own company's Salus account.
