Archive or remove a subcontractor from a site
Overview
When a subcontractor no longer needs access to a site, you have two options: archive the site, or remove the subcontractor from it entirely. Both actions apply to a single site, not the subcontractor's entire record. A subcontractor company can still be associated with other sites even after you archive or remove it from one.
Use Archive Site to deactivate the site while keeping the subcontractor's history in place. Use Remove From Site when you want the subcontractor's association with that site gone completely, including cases where forms, workers, or other data are already attached to it.

Step-by-Step Instructions
Archive a site for a subcontractor
Archiving deactivates the site for this subcontractor while keeping its history intact.
- Navigate to Subcontractors › Active.
- Select the subcontractor whose site you want to archive.
- On the Sites tab, find the site in the list.
- In the Actions column, click the Archive Site icon.
Remove a subcontractor from a site
Removing takes the subcontractor off the site completely. This works even if the subcontractor already has forms, workers, or other data attached to that site.
- Navigate to Subcontractors › Active.
- Select the subcontractor whose site you want to remove.
- On the Sites tab, find the site in the list.
- In the Actions column, click the Remove From Site icon.
- In the confirmation dialog, click Yes.
Warning: Confirming removal takes the subcontractor off the site right away. Make sure you have the correct site selected before confirming.
What Happens Next
After archiving, the site's status changes to Archived on the subcontractor's Sites tab. The subcontractor's history for that site is preserved, and the site no longer counts toward the subcontractor's active sites.
After removing, the site no longer appears in the subcontractor's Sites list at all. The subcontractor record itself still exists and remains associated with any other sites it's assigned to.
Frequently Asked Questions
