Link a Company Orientation to a Site Orientation
Overview
Linking a Company Orientation to a Site Orientation lets you enforce company-wide training requirements without making workers repeat the same training at every site.
Once linked, workers must complete the Company Orientation before they can finish the Site Orientation. If they've already completed it and it's still valid, it's automatically marked complete, so they can move straight to the site-specific items. It only comes up again if the Company Orientation expires.
Use this to cover things like new hire onboarding, company-wide safety training, or annual refreshers once, and have every site that requires them stay in sync automatically.

Step-by-Step Instructions
- Click Orientations in the main navigation.
- Create a new Site Orientation, or click Edit on an existing one.
- In the Site Orientation builder, go to the Orientation Items step.
- Click Add Item.
Select Company Orientation.
- A dropdown appears. Choose the specific Company Orientation you want to require. The options shown match the names of Company Orientations you've already created.
Note: A Company Orientation must already exist before you can link it. If the dropdown is empty or missing the one you need, create the Company Orientation first.
- Confirm the Company Orientation now appears in the Orientation Items list, then save the Site Orientation.
Rules and limitations
- A Site Orientation can include only one Company Orientation.
- The linked Company Orientation is always required. Workers can't complete the Site Orientation until it's done.
- A Company Orientation can't be deactivated while it's still linked to a Site Orientation. Remove it from the Site Orientation first, then deactivate it.
- Linking doesn't copy or duplicate the Company Orientation. It stays a single shared item referenced by any Site Orientation that includes it. There's no separate action to copy it into a site.
What Happens Next
Once saved, the Company Orientation appears as an item inside the Site Orientation for every worker who needs to complete it.
- Tapping or clicking that item takes the worker into the Company Orientation flow.
- If the worker has already completed the Company Orientation and it's still valid, it appears automatically marked as completed, and they move on to the site-specific items.
- If the worker hasn't completed it, or it has expired, they're prompted to complete it before they can finish the Site Orientation.
- Manually marking a worker's Site Orientation as complete also marks the linked Company Orientation as complete. This stays consistent whether you view it from the Site Orientation or the Company Orientation directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do workers have to complete the Company Orientation every time they visit a new site?
No. Once completed, it's automatically marked complete in every other Site Orientation that links to it, until it expires.
What happens if a worker hasn't completed the Company Orientation yet?
They're required to complete it before they can finish the Site Orientation.
Can I link more than one Company Orientation to a Site Orientation?
No. Each Site Orientation can include only one Company Orientation.
What happens if I try to deactivate a Company Orientation that's linked to a Site Orientation?
You can't. Remove it from the Site Orientation first, then deactivate it.
If I mark a worker's Site Orientation as complete manually, does that also complete the linked Company Orientation?
Yes. Manually completing a Site Orientation also marks the linked Company Orientation as complete, whether you view it from the Site Orientation or the Company Orientation directly.
If a worker already completed this Company Orientation for a different company, does it count here?
No. A Company Orientation is scoped to the company that owns it. Completions from a different company don't carry over, so the worker needs to complete it again under this company.
Can I move or copy a Company Orientation into a site instead of linking it?
No. Linking doesn't copy or duplicate it. It stays a single shared item referenced by any Site Orientation that includes it.
Who can link Company Orientations to Site Orientations?
Only Full Access users (Company Admins).
