With SALUS Orientations you can build a QR code driven orientation workflow to help streamline how you deliver and manage all of your site level orientations. This feature provides and efficient way to onboard workers, ensure consistency across projects, and maintain clear visibility into who has and has not completed this process.

💡 To learn more about the basics of how QR codes work and what you can do with them check out this QR code Overview before proceeding.

What Makes an Orientation Different From a QR Code Bundle

SALUS Orientations are a QR code driven process and although building out this workflow is similar to building a regular QR code bundle there are some differences you should be aware of.

  1. Orientation QR codes essentially work as a checklist requiring each item on the list to be completed in order to satisfy the requirement of being orientated
  2. Videos added to an orientation QR code are defaulted to being "unskippable" meaning you have to sit through the entire video in order for this workflow item to be marked as completed
  3. The data captured through an Orientation QR code feeds directly into the orientation status for workers at each of your sites
  4. "Request Orientation ID" is only available to be added to an orientation QR code

Converting a QR Code Bundle to an Orientation QR Code

If you have an existing QR code bundle that you are already using for orientations, there is no need to recreate it and replacing the QR code you currently have posted on site. You have the ability to convert your existing QR code bundle into an Orientation QR code. Here's how:

⚠️ This action cannot be undone. Once you convert a QR code bundle to an Orientation QR code you will not be able to reverse it.

Navigate to your QR Codes page and click on the edit button next to the QR code you wish to convert

Click the "Convert to Orientation" button

Click the blue "Convert to Orientation" button to confirm the action. Be sure to read the warning first!

Following the completion of this action, the QR code will be removed from your QR code screen and can now be found in the Orientations screen

Orientation Objects - Required vs. Not Required

Although all objects typically available to be added to a QR code can be used in an Orientation QR code, they are not all trackable or required in order to satisfy the orientation requirements. Here is a brief summary of which of these objects are required and which ones are not when included in an Orientation workflow.

Orientation Statuses

When viewing and analyzing your orientation you will come across three different orientation statuses. See below for what these statuses are and what they mean.

Not Started - This status means that the worker has yet to complete any of the objects in the orientation workflow

image (7).png

In Progress - This status is triggered the moment a worker scans an orientation QR code and will remain in place until all required objects in the workflow have been completed

Completed - The worker has completed all required objects in the orientation workflow
