View and Create Log Entries
Overview
Asset logs let you record notes, photos, and operational data for a specific piece of equipment directly from the Salus mobile app. Use them to track machine hours, mileage, site activity, and any maintenance needs that come up during a shift.
View log entries
- Tap My Toolkit in the bottom navigation bar.
- Tap Assets.
- On the Select an Asset Type screen, tap the asset type you want. Use Search Asset Types to narrow the list.
- Tap the specific asset from the Assets list. Use Search Assets to find it quickly.
- On the Asset Detail screen, tap Logs.
The Asset Logs screen opens, showing all log entries for this asset in chronological order. If no logs have been created yet, the screen displays "No asset logs found."
Create a log entry
- From the Asset Logs screen, tap the + button in the top right corner.
The Create Asset Log screen opens. Fill in the fields that apply.
Add Asset Log Images
Tap the camera button to take a photo or attach an image from your device. Use this to document the asset's condition at the time of the log.

Notes
A free-text field for any observations, comments, or details about this log entry.
Optional.
Site
The site where the asset is being used. Select from the dropdown.
Optional.
Maintenance Required (toggle)
Turn this on if the asset needs maintenance. This flags the log entry so it can be followed up on.
Optional. Off by default.
Hours On Machine
The current hour meter reading for this asset.
Optional.
Mileage
The current odometer or mileage reading for this asset.
Optional.
- Tap Submit Asset Log to save the entry.
The log entry appears in the Asset Logs list immediately.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Maintenance Required toggle for?
Turning it on flags the log entry to indicate the asset needs maintenance. This helps admins and foremen identify assets that require attention when reviewing logs.
Can I edit a log entry after submitting it?
Tap the log entry in the Asset Logs list to open it. If editing is available for your role, you will see the option to make changes.
Do I have to fill in all the fields?
No. All fields on the Create Asset Log screen are optional. Fill in whatever is relevant for the entry you are creating.
I don't see the Logs option on the Asset Detail screen. What's wrong?
You may not have the permissions needed to view or create asset logs. Contact your Salus admin to confirm your account has the correct access level.
