Setting up a QR Code

Note: QR codes can not be used offline. You need to have either WiFi or cell service in order to successfully scan a QR code

QR Code creation is limited to only Full Access Roles

QR codes are a great way to facilitate easy access to a variety of critical elements of your SALUS platform to your workers while out on site. By creating a QR code and posting it out in the field you can super charge your SALUS workflows and drive greater adoption amongst your field workers.

You do not need to have the SALUS mobile app installed on your mobile device to use a SALUS QR code, however you do need to have/create an account. Scanning a code without the mobile app will launch your web browser allowing you to access the contents of the code without ever having installed the app.

QR codes in SALUS are easy to create and can include the following 5 SALUS objects/options;

  • Check In
  • Assets
  • Forms
  • Documents
  • URL’s/Web Links

Let’s dig into each of these objects

Check In

What does it do?

  • Scanning a code with a Check In option allows a worker to check in and out of a site of your choosing with one quick tap of a button.

Use Cases

  • Code can be posted at site access points and workers instructed to scan upon entry and exit of the site
  • Allows for accurate head count so that you know who is and is not on site at all times

Assets

What does it do?

  • Scanning a QR code with an asset connected to it will allow the worker to immediately access the profile for that particular asset
  • The asset profile also displays a button to enable the worker to easily create an inspection form for that piece of equipment

Use Cases

  • The QR code can be printed and affixed to any piece of equipment
  • Set up simple workflows for submitting an asset inspection or accessing the full maintenance and log history that particular piece of equipment

Forms

What does it do?

  • Connect one or many forms to a QR code and the worker will be able to select those forms from a curated list to fill out.

Use Cases

  • Deliver a streamlined selection of forms to your workers based on location and/or function
  • Provide select forms to your subcontractors to fill out on a particular site/project

Document

What does it do?

  • Connect your QR code to any document that lives in your SALUS documents portal
  • Allow workers to review and sign a document by scanning a QR code

Use Cases

  • Equip your workers with the documents of your choosing and eliminate the process of having to go through all of your documents to find the right one
  • Provide your workers with safe work plans/procedures or safety data sheets that are needed for that particular project

URL’s/Web Links

What does it do?

  • Create a URL to anything on the internet and make it accessible by scanning a SALUS QR code

Use Cases

  • Give your workers access to an orientation video
  • Send your workers to an online course or certification program

Setting up and then using a QR code is very simple. Let’s get started!

  6. Click the “X” to remove an object from your QR Code

  7. Checking this box will allow a new worker to create a profile and join your company before gaining access to the objects contained in the QR Code

  8. Checking this box will allow a subcontractor’s worker to access the QR Code but only if they have an existing profile in the system

  9. Checking this box will allow a new subcontractor’s worker to create a SALUS profile, join one of the subcontractor companies on the selected project before gaining access to the objects contained in the QR Code

  10. If you leave all 3 boxes unchecked only an existing worker in your own company will be able to access the contents of the QR Code
