Overview
A site is an entity you create in Salus to organize your data. Think of a site as a view, or a window, into the data linked to it.
All of your data is stored in one central place. A site links to the records categorized as part of it. Because of this, the same document, form, worker, or subcontractor can appear on more than one site at the same time.
When you open a site, the platform switches into that site's workspace. The menu changes to show site-specific navigation, and everything you see is scoped to that one site.
Open a site
- On the main menu, click Sites.
- Search for the site you want, or select it from the list.
The site's dashboard opens, and the menu bar changes to show navigation for that specific site.
Tip: To leave the site workspace and return to company-wide navigation, click Back To Home, located below the left-hand navigation.
The site workspace
Once a site is open, the left-hand menu shows the sections below. Each one is scoped to the site you are in.
Meet Rosie
Opens a conversation with Rosie, the Salus AI safety assistant. Rosie answers questions using your safety data. For more information, see Meet Rosie.
Site Dashboard
Shows panels of key information for the site:
- Weather for the day.
- Submitted forms, with counts for the month, the week, and today.
- Worker counts, including Total On-site and Active On-site for the day.
- Subcontractor information, where applicable.
Orientation
Shows the orientations set up for this site. You can also create a site orientation here.
When no orientation exists yet, click + Create Orientation to start the site orientation builder.
Workers
Shows the workers assigned to the site, listed by Name, Company, Last Check-In, Check-Out, Status, and Orientation Status. The Status column is the quickest way to see who is currently checked in on site. The Orientation Status column shows each worker's progress on the site orientation: Not Started, In Progress, or Complete.
To add workers to the site, click Add Workers.
Note: A worker must already have a profile on the platform before you can add them to a site. For more information, see Add a worker and Add workers to sites.
Subcontractors
This section has two tabs:
- Dashboard: Shows key subcontractor information for the day, including Workers on Site, Subcontractors on Site, Submitted Forms, and a graph of forms submitted by subcontractors and workers. It also shows Current Workers, Current Subcontractors, and All-Time Submitted Forms. This view shows fixed information and cannot be customized.
- Companies: Shows the subcontractor companies assigned to the site.
Documents
Shows the documents assigned to the site. To manage documents or perform document actions, work at the company level rather than here. For more information, see Documents.
Forms
Shows the forms submitted for this site, in one place. Click into any form to see its details. This section has two tabs:
- Company: Forms submitted by your own workers.
- Subcontractor: Forms submitted by subcontractors.
To manage forms, work at the company level rather than here. For more information, see Forms.
QR Codes
Shows the QR codes assigned to the site. For more information, see QR Codes.

Enter your own reference information for the site, such as Accounting Name, Job Number, and Class.
Use it when: you want your own naming conventions on a site your company did not create.
Auto Emails
Manage the recipients who receive email notifications triggered when set conditions are met for selected documents or forms. To add a recipient, click + Add Email. To change or remove a recipient, hover over them and click Edit or Delete.

Salus Support
Opens a chat window where you can get answers from an automated system or connect with a Salus support team member for live help.
What happens next
While a site is open, every section you use is scoped to that site only. Documents and forms can also be managed company-wide, where actions apply across all sites they are linked to.
To leave the site and return to company-wide navigation, click Back To Home below the left-hand navigation.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does the same worker, form, or document appear on more than one site?
Your data lives in one central place, and a site is a view into the records linked to it. The same record can be linked to multiple sites, so it can appear on each of them.
I cannot open a site. Why?
Sites are managed by Full Access and Site Access users. Own Access users do not manage sites. If you expect access and do not have it, confirm your access level with a Full Access user at your company.
Why can I not edit the site name?
The Edit Site tab is only available to the owner or creator of the site. If you did not create the site, you can still add your own reference information in the Details tab instead.
Why can I not manage documents or forms from inside the site?
The site view shows the documents and forms linked to that site so you can see them in one place. To manage them, work at the company level, where actions apply across all linked sites.
What is the difference between the Company and Subcontractor tabs under Forms?
The Company tab shows forms submitted by your own workers. The Subcontractor tab shows forms submitted by subcontractors. Both are scoped to the current site.
What does Orientation Status mean in the Workers list?
It shows each worker's progress on the site-specific orientation: Not Started, In Progress, or Complete. Use it to see who still needs to finish the orientation for this site.
How do I get back to the main, company-wide menu?
Click Back To Home, located below the left-hand navigation. This takes you out of the site workspace and back to company-wide navigation.
